Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer to design and run scalable data pipelines, integrate structured and unstructured data, and enforce data quality and governance across the POTFF Enterprise Data and Analytics function.

You will partner with Data Scientists and stakeholders to enable reproducible analyses and secure data workflows. You will work on Government-designated systems, including NLP/LLM use cases, and support the deployment of analytic products

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or computing discipline with related coursework or experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional data engineering or data pipeline experience.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python with hands-on data engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on the Government stack for batch processing.
• Integrate diverse data sources into curated, analysis-ready datasets.
• Implement data quality, lineage, and governance controls and monitor workflows.
• Develop data models, dictionaries, and metadata with version control.
• Prepare unstructured data for NLP/LLM use within approved tools.
• Support deployment of analytics products into operational workflows and basic MLOps.
• Apply DoD data governance and privacy requirements and manage data access controls.
• Collaborate with analysts, clinicians, and data scientists to translate requirements into data specs.
