Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and in Python or a comparable language used for data engineering.
• Minimum of three years of professional experience in data engineering, database development, or data pipeline development.
• A degree or equivalent experience as described above.
• Experience with ETL/ELT design, data modeling, data quality checks, and version control.
• Ability to communicate clearly with analysts and non-technical stakeholders and to document technical work for continuity.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on the government stack for batch processing.
• Fuse structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data into curated datasets.
• Implement data quality controls, lineage, and performance tuning for reliable pipelines.
• Develop data models, dictionaries, metadata, and transformation logic under version control.
• Prepare unstructured data for NLP and LLM use cases for the data science team.
• Support integration of data products into visualization tools and MLOps practices when directed.
