Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Science Consultant to support our Army client in the United States. The role focuses on designing new data solutions using Databricks SQL, Python, Pyspark and Palantir Foundry to meet business requirements and modify data models as needed.

You will define tests, build data models and reports from ERP/legacy data, and coordinate with stakeholders to convert business needs into technical specifications. An Active Secret Clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands on development experience.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python and Pyspark.
• Experience in data engineering, data science and data analytics. Not a Cloud Full Stack role.
• Familiarity with Databricks.
• Familiarity with database design and architecture; relational and non-relational databases.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and participate in discussions.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture: AWS/Azure.
• Proficiency with software engineering tools and processes (estimation, issue tracking, version control, debugging).
• Proven ability to work independently on assigned tasks without supervision.
• Proven experience in knowledge sharing (code reviews, solid documentation).
• Driven, self-directed personality.
• Strong sense of mission and commitment to making a difference.
• Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design new solutions using Databricks (SQL, Python, Pyspark) and Palantir Foundry to meet business requirements.
• Design modifications to existing data model solutions as needed.
• Define test cases and verify test results to ensure solutions function as designed.
• Build data models and reports using datasets from ERPs and legacy systems.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and users to determine reporting requirements and translate them into technical specs.
