Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Science Consultant to support our Army client. You will design new data solutions using Databricks and Palantir Foundry to meet business requirements, build data models, and deliver reports from ERP and legacy systems.

Candidates should have 2+ years of hands-on development, strong SQL/Python/PySpark skills, and experience in data engineering, data science, and analytics. A Bachelor’s degree and active Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on development experience.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python and PySpark.
• Experience in data engineering, data science and data analytics.
• Familiarity with Databricks.
• Familiarity with database design and architecture (relational and non-relational).
• Ability to work cross-functionally and discuss with stakeholders.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture (AWS/Azure).
• Experience with software engineering tools and processes (estimation, issue tracking, version control, debugging).
• Proven ability to work independently on tasks without supervision.
• Proven experience in knowledge sharing (code reviews, documentation).
• Driven, self-directed with a strong mission mindset.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE.
• Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design new solutions using Databricks (SQL, Python, PySpark) and Palantir Foundry to meet business requirements.
• Design modifications to existing data model solutions as needed.
• Define test cases and verify test results to ensure solutions function as designed.
• Build data models and reports using datasets from ERPs and legacy systems.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and users to determine reporting requirements and translate them into technical specs.
