Job summary

TechDigital Group is seeking an experienced Sr. Data Engineer in Rochester, NY to support the design and deployment of enterprise API platforms. The role requires expertise in Kubernetes, particularly AKS, and a strong background in multi-cloud environments using GCP and Azure.

The successful candidate will manage infrastructure, integrate CI/CD processes, and collaborate with teams for successful project milestones. Experience in observability, SIEM, and API management is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years Kubernetes experience (AKS required; GKE/on-prem preferred).
• Strong multi-cloud experience, especially with Azure & GCP.
• Familiarity with Apigee Hybrid architecture and edge platforms.

Job Description

The contractor will support the design, deployment, and stabilization of Mayo Clinic's enterprise Apigee Hybrid API platform across multi-cloud (GCP, Azure/AKS) and on-prem environments, aligned with a parallel Akamai edge routing and security implementation. Responsibilities include provisioning and managing Kubernetes infrastructure, deploying Apigee Hybrid runtimes and Akamai components, configuring multi-cloud networking, and developing Terraform-based infrastructure as code. The role will also support CI/CD integration, observability and SIEM connectivity, and production readiness activities while collaborating with internal teams and external partners. This individual will operate in a milestone-driven environment, ensuring infrastructure readiness, supporting go-live timelines, and providing documentation and knowledge transfer for long-term operational ownership.

Required Skills

• 3+ years Kubernetes (AKS required; GKE/on-prem preferred)
• Strong multi-cloud (Azure & GCP) experience – Terraform / IaC and CI/CD pipeline experience
• Familiarity with Apigee Hybrid architecture – Understanding of edge platforms (Akamai preferred)
• Experience with observability, SIEM, and Zero-Trust security
