Job summary

Ventures Unlimited, Inc. is seeking a senior API Management Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and operation of APIGEE Hybrid and APIGEE X environments. You will implement and automate API platforms, integrate CI/CD pipelines, and drive cloud-based strategies across Azure, AWS, and GCP.

Strong Kubernetes, scripting, and collaboration with architects are essential. You will optimize API governance, security, and observability, while delivering scalable integration solutions and daily/weekly

Qualifications

• Experience installing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining API Management platforms like APIGEE Hybrid.
• Proficient in developing APIs in APIGEE, troubleshooting API failures.
• Experience with tools like Postman, JMeter.
• Strong knowledge of XML/JSON, SOAP/REST, OAuth 2.0, JWT, SSO, and related security & transformation techniques.
• CI/CD pipeline implementation for Apigee.
• Kubernetes experience for deployment, scaling, and management.
• Containerization experience.
• Experience with source control tools such as GitHub and Bitbucket.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Bash, and/or PowerShell.
• Agile methodologies including SCRUM and SAFe.

Responsibilities

• Implements Enterprise API & Integration platforms strategy for APIGEE X and APIGEE Hybrid from design to production support.
• Automates deployment and upgrades using Terraform, Ansible, and cloud-native tools.
• Performs capacity planning and infrastructure expansion for APIGEE X deployments.
• Monitors, alerts, and troubleshoots APIs deployed on APIGEE X and APIGEE Hybrid.
• Collaborates with API and Integration Architects on API design, testing, and production readiness.
• Works with 3rd party logging tools (e.g., Splunk) and cloud analytics to generate reports.
• Develops automation pipelines on Google Cloud Platform and Azure DevOps.
• Identifies dependencies and blockers; collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve them.

Job description

• 1. Experience installing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining API Management platforms like APIGEE Hybrid,
• 2. Proficient in developing APIs in APIGEE, troubleshooting API failures
• 3. Experience with tools like Postman, JMeter etc.
• 4. Good understanding of XML, JSON, Web Service Technologies (SOAP, REST), OAuth 2.0, Basic Auth, JWT, SSO implementation, XML/JSON transformations, logging policies, KVM, Caching
• 5. Good understanding of implementation of CI/CD pipeline for Apigee
• 6. Expertise in Kubernetes to automate application deployment, scaling and management
• 7. Experience with containerization
• 8. Experience with any Source Control Tools such as Bitbucket, Git Hub etc.
• 9. Experienced with languages such as Python, Go, Bash and/or PowerShell.
• 10. Solid understanding of AGILE principals and methodologies, with experience in the SCRUM and SAFe frameworks
• 11. Extensive hands-on experience in Enterprise API Management and Integration Platforms such as APIGEE Hybrid and Apigee X.
• 12. Hands-on cloud engineering experience (Azure, AWS and/or GCP) building effective cloud technology solutions
• 13. Experience in cloud architecture (cloud infrastructure, storage, networking, security, costing)

• Implements Enterprise API and Integration platforms strategy from a technical perspective, including design, planning, integration, maintenance, and support of ApigeeX infrastructure architecture
• Perform cert renewals and update GCP secret managers for deploying the certs using Automation.
• Perform deployment of APIGEE X using existing automation written in Terraform
• Enhance automation scripts (Terraform, Python, Ansible) to support APIGEEX upgrades
• Perform periodic capacity planning/infrastructure expansion for APIGEEX
• Monitoring, Alerting, Troubleshooting of APIS deployed on APIGEEX
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the infrastructure on which the APIGEEX are deployed
• Works closely with the API and Integration platforms architect(s) on activities such as API design, implementation, testing, production deployment and support
• Able to work with 3rd party logging tools Splunk, ApigeeX analytics and generate daily and weekly reports
• Able to understand and work on automations on Google cloud platform
• Able to work and develop pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Identify technical dependencies and roadblocks proactively and work with cross-functional teams to remove them
