Job summary

Ventures Unlimited, Inc. is seeking an API Management Engineer to lead design, deployment, and maintenance of APIGEE Hybrid and APIGEE X environments in the United States.

You will collaborate with architects, optimize CI/CD pipelines, leverage Terraform, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms, and ensure high availability of API services.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with security, logging (Splunk), and cross-functional teamwork in an Agile/SAFe setting.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, configuring, deploying, maintaining APIGEE Hybrid and Apigee X.
• Proficient in developing APIs in APIGEE and troubleshooting API failures.
• Familiar with Postman, JMeter and related testing tools.
• Strong knowledge of XML, JSON, SOAP/REST, OAuth 2.0, JWT, SSO, and transformations.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for Apigee.
• Expertise in Kubernetes for automated deployment, scaling and management.
• Experience with containerization.
• Experience with source control tools such as Bitbucket and Git.
• Proficient in Python, Go, Bash and/or PowerShell.
• Solid understanding of AGILE, SCRUM and SAFe.
• Hands-on experience with Enterprise API Management and Cloud platforms.
• Cloud engineering experience across Azure, AWS, GCP.

Responsibilities

• Implements Enterprise API and Integration platforms strategy for ApigeeX infrastructure.
• Perform cert renewals and update GCP secret managers for deploying the certs using Automation.
• Deploy APIGEE X using existing automation written in Terraform.
• Enhance automation scripts (Terraform, Python, Ansible) for ApigeeX upgrades.
• Capacity planning and infrastructure expansion for APIGEE X.
• Monitoring, Alerting, Troubleshooting of APIs deployed on APIGEE X.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infra issues for APIGEE X deployments.
• Collaborate with API and Integration architects on design, testing, deployment and support.
• Work with 3rd party logging tools Splunk, ApigeeX analytics and generate reports.
• Work on automations on Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Identify dependencies and roadblocks and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Required Skills

1. 1. Experience installing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining API Management platforms like APIGEE Hybrid, Apigee X
2. 2. Proficient in developing APIs in APIGEE, troubleshooting API failures
3. 3. Experience with tools like Postman, JMeter etc.
4. 4. Good understanding of XML, JSON, Web Service Technologies (SOAP, REST), OAuth 2.0, Basic Auth, JWT, SSO implementation, XML/JSON transformations, logging policies, KVM, Caching
5. 5. Good understanding of implementation of CI/CD pipeline for Apigee
6. 6. Expertise in Kubernetes to automate application deployment, scaling and management
7. 7. Experience with containerization
8. 8. Experience with any Source Control Tools such as Bitbucket, Git Hub etc.
9. 9. Experienced with languages such as Python, Go, Bash and/or PowerShell.
10. 10. Solid understanding of AGILE principals and methodologies, with experience in the SCRUM and SAFe frameworks
11. 11. Extensive hands-on experience in Enterprise API Management and Integration Platforms such as APIGEE Hybrid and Apigee X.
12. 12. Hands-on cloud engineering experience (Azure, AWS and/or GCP) building effective cloud technology solutions
13. 13. Experience in cloud architecture (cloud infrastructure, storage, networking, security, costing)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Implements Enterprise API and Integration platforms strategy from a technical perspective, including design, planning, integration, maintenance, and support of ApigeeX infrastructure architecture
• Perform cert renewals and update GCP secret managers for deploying the certs using Automation.
• Perform deployment of APIGEE X using existing automation written in Terraform
• Enhance automation scripts (Terraform, Python, Ansible) to support APIGEEX upgrades
• Perform periodic capacity planning/infrastructure expansion for APIGEEX
• Monitoring, Alerting, Troubleshooting of APIS deployed on APIGEEX
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the infrastructure on which the APIGEEX are deployed
• Works closely with the API and Integration platforms architect(s) on activities such as API design, implementation, testing, production deployment and support
• Able to work with 3rd party logging tools Splunk, ApigeeX analytics and generate daily and weekly reports
• Able to understand and work on automations on Google cloud platform
• Able to work and develop pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Identify technical dependencies and roadblocks proactively and work with cross-functional teams to remove them
