Job summary

SFE is seeking an experienced Apigee Engineer to lead enterprise API management initiatives. You will design, deploy, and optimize APIGEE X infrastructure, automate deployments with Terraform, and maintain secure, scalable cloud solutions across Google Cloud, Azure, and AWS.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years of API experience, strong Kubernetes skills, and a track record in CI/CD automation, logging, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of API management experience with Apigee Hybrid/X.
• Strong hands-on with cloud platforms and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD and automation tools.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain APIGEE X infrastructure and integration architecture.
• Automate cert renewals and secret management in GCP; deploy APIGEE X via Terraform.
• Enhance automation scripts for APIGEE X upgrades and capacity planning.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize API deployments; collaborate with architects.
• Work with logging tools (Splunk/ApigeeX analytics) and analytics reporting.
• Develop pipelines using Azure DevOps and cloud automation across GCP/AWS/Azure.

Job Details

Job Title: Apigee Engineer

Experience Required:- 6+ Years

Location: Remote

Duration: Fulltime Hire with Client TCS

Salary Range: $130,000-$145,000 a year

Required Skills

• 1. Experience installing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining API Management platforms like APIGEE Hybrid,
• Apigee X
• 2. Proficient in developing APIs in APIGEE, troubleshooting API failures
• 3. Experience with tools like Postman, JMeter etc.
• 4. Good understanding of XML, JSON, Web Service Technologies (SOAP, REST), OAuth 2.0, Basic Auth, JWT,
• SSO implementation, XML/JSON transformations, logging policies, KVM, Caching
• 5. Good understanding of implementation of CI/CD pipeline for Apigee
• 6. Expertise in Kubernetes to automate application deployment, scaling and management
• 7. Experience with containerization
• 8. Experience with any Source Control Tools such as Bitbucket, Git Hub etc.
• 9. Experienced with languages such as Python, Go, Bash and/or PowerShell.
• 10. Solid understanding of AGILE principals and methodologies, with experience in the SCRUM and SAFe
• frameworks
• 11. Extensive hands-on experience in Enterprise API Management and Integration Platforms such as APIGEE

Roles & Responsibilities

• Implements Enterprise API and Integration platforms strategy from a technical perspective, including design,
• planning, integration, maintenance, and support of ApigeeX infrastructure architecture
• Perform cert renewals and update GCP secret managers for deploying the certs using Automation.
• Perform deployment of APIGEE X using existing automation written in Terraform
• Enhance automation scripts (Terraform, Python, Ansible) to support APIGEEX upgrades
• Perform periodic capacity planning/infrastructure expansion for APIGEEX
• Monitoring, Alerting, Troubleshooting of APIS deployed on APIGEEX
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the infrastructure on which the APIGEEX are deployed
• Works closely with the API and Integration platforms architect(s) on activities such as API design,
• implementation, testing, production deployment and support
• Able to work with 3rd party logging tools Splunk, ApigeeX analytics and generate daily and weekly reports
• Able to understand and work on automations on Google cloud platform
• Able to work and develop pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Identify technical dependencies and roadblocks proactively and work with cross-functional teams to remove them
