Job summary

Capital One's AML/Fraud and Ethics Audit team seeks an experienced Principal Auditor to lead BSA/AML, Sanctions, and Fraud audits, contributing to the annual audit plan. You will perform risk assessments, execute testing, and communicate issues clearly to management while guiding smaller engagements with independence and integrity.

This hybrid role is based in New York, NY and requires 4+ years in auditing with relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience required.
• At least 4 years of auditing experience, with AML, Sanctions or Fraud exposure.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with data-driven testing.
• Certification such as CFE, CAMS, CRCM, CIA or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead major BSA/AML, Sanctions and Fraud audits within the AML/Fraud and Ethics team.
• Perform risk assessments and design testing aligned with audit scope.
• Communicate issues, risks and recommendations to management and partners.
• Work independently, manage timelines, and maintain high-quality standards.
• Develop relationships with business partners and leverage data analytics in audits.
• Follow up on audit actions to ensure timely remediation.
