Portland State University’s Office of Marketing and Communications is seeking a Communications Strategist to serve as an embedded partner to colleges, schools, or major units while reporting to University Communications.

The role develops data-informed communication strategies that advance PSU’s priorities, translates complex initiatives into clear stories, and balances local context with campus-wide alignment in a decentralized environment. This position is open to PSU employees only.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, PR, or related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in communications or PR.
• Demonstrable portfolio of successful communications projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluency in digital and social media.
