Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an effective classroom teacher for IDEA Academy in Texas. You will implement state standards, deliver rigorous instruction, and monitor student progress to ensure college readiness.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, teaching certification, and preferably K-12 classroom experience. It offers a comprehensive benefits package, compensation for certifications, and possible stipends based on credentials and leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
• Teaching certification and/ or field of study aligned with K-12 classroom responsibilities (strongly preferred)
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred)
• Licenses or Certifications: Reading Academies certification for K-3 or willingness to obtain TX training; bilingual certification strongly preferred (not required)

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback
• Assess and track each student’s progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families on a weekly basis
• Maintain and apply an effective behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives
• Engage in weekly meetings, after-school duties, and school-wide activities
• Commit to 40+ hours per week on-site
• Support tutoring sessions after school or on Saturdays as needed
