Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Texas seeks an Early Education teacher to help students master the academic and social skills while embodying IDEA’s values. You will plan and deliver rigorous instruction, assess progress, and engage families toward college readiness.

The role offers a comprehensive benefits plan, a starting salary of $58,500 with stipends for certifications and campus leadership, and additional pay for after-school tutoring. Experience in K-12 preferred.

Qualifications

• Content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification or relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
• Reading Academies certification or willingness to obtain TX training within required timelines.
• Bilingual certification strongly preferred; content and ESL certification preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Implement formal and informal assessments to track each student’s progress and adjust plans.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly.
• Maintain a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Participate in weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, and after-school duties.
• Engage in summer and year-long district, school and personal learning and development.
• Minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week.
