Job summary

Eclipse Advantage in Kansas City, MO is hiring a Dispatch & Load Control specialist to greet drivers, verify load details and documentation, and accurately enter data into the WMS to keep shipments moving on time and in compliance.

The role involves assigning doors, dispatching loads per schedule, communicating instructions to drivers and warehouse staff, generating reports, and maintaining real time visibility of load progress, with emphasis on safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

• Load Check-In:
  • Greet and register drivers upon arrival.
  • Verify load information, appointment times, and required documentation.
  • Accurately enter load and driver details into the WMS.
• Dispatching:
  • Assign doors or staging areas to incoming loads based on operational priorities.
  • Dispatch outbound loads in the WMS according to schedules, customer requirements, and carrier instructions.
  • Communicate dispatch instructions clearly to drivers and warehouse leads.
• System Management:
  • Maintain real-time accuracy of load statuses within the WMS (arrived, in process, loaded, dispatched, etc.).
  • Generate, review, and update dispatch reports to ensure visibility of load progress.
  • Flag and escalation discrepancies in the WMS related to load numbers, trailer assignments, or documentation.
• Communication & Coordination:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for drivers regarding check-in and dispatch instructions.
  • Coordinate with warehouse supervisors, yard jockeys, and operations leads to ensure timely trailer movements.
  • Work with customer service or scheduling teams to resolve issues with late arrivals, missing paperwork, or load changes.
• Compliance & Safety:
  • Ensure driver compliance with site safety protocols during check-in and dispatch.
  • Verify that all required documentation (BOL, shipping labels, etc.) is complete and accurate before dispatch.
  • Report safety concerns or operational delays promptly to leadership.

Pay Range:

$24.00 - $24.00 per hour

Shifts:

• Monday to Thursday, 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Monday to Thursday, 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Friday to Sunday, 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Friday to Sunday, 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Job Requirements:

• Ability to work in various climate conditions (potentially including cooler/freezers)

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Other duties as assigned
