Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Data Center Thermal Application Engineer to design and deploy advanced liquid and air cooling solutions for high-density workloads in modern data centers. You will collaborate with CDU, Dry Cooler, and fan array suppliers to ensure scalable, reliable cooling architectures.

The role requires hands-on experience with CFD tools, thermal modeling, and field deployment, with travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/thermal engineering required.
• 5+ years in data center cooling, thermal engineering, or HVAC systems.
• Experience with CDU/liquid cooling and high-density air cooling systems.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE TC9.9 and data center design standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement thermal solutions using liquid cooling (CDUs) and high-performance air cooling.
• Define system-level cooling architectures integrating CDU loops and rack-level solutions.
• Evaluate and optimize airflow strategies including containment and fan wall deployments.
• Perform thermal calculations, system sizing, and redundancy planning.
