Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Data Center Thermal Application Engineer to design and deploy advanced cooling architectures for high-density workloads. You will collaborate with CDU suppliers, Dry Cooler providers, and internal teams to deliver scalable, reliable thermal solutions.

The role requires expertise in liquid cooling, air cooling, heat transfer, and system integration, with engagement across engineering, procurement, and field teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or thermal engineering.
• 5+ years of data center cooling or HVAC experience.
• Hands-on with CDU/liquid cooling, Dry Cooler, or large-scale airflow systems.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE TC9.9 guidelines and data center standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement thermal solutions using liquid cooling and high‑density air cooling.
• Define system-level cooling architectures integrating CDU loops and rack-level cooling.
• Optimize airflow with cold/hot aisle containment and fan wall deployment.
• Perform thermal calculations, system sizing, and redundancy planning.
