Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Data Center Thermal Application Engineer to design and deploy advanced cooling solutions for high-density workloads. You will work with CDU, dry cooler, and fan array systems to deliver efficient, scalable cooling architectures across data centers.

The role requires strong knowledge of liquid cooling, airflow management, and system-level integration, plus collaboration with external partners and internal teams to ensure reliable operation and performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/thermal engineering or equivalent professional training.
  • 5+ years of data center cooling, thermal engineering, or HVAC experience.
  • Hands-on with CDU liquid cooling, dry coolers, or large-scale airflow systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement thermal solutions using liquid cooling and high‑performance air‑cooling systems.
  • Define system-level cooling architectures integrating CDU loops and rack-level solutions.
  • Evaluate and optimize airflow strategies (cold/hot aisle containment, fan walls).
  • Perform thermal calculations, sizing, and redundancy planning.
  • Collaborate with CDU, dry cooler, and fan array suppliers; support integration testing and FAT/SAT.
