Job summary

Jacobs is hiring a Telecom Section Manager in the United States within a hybrid work model. The role focuses on leading telecom design for data center projects, coordinating with SME teams, project leads, and clients.

You will oversee preliminary assessments, concept creation, and designs while ensuring on-time delivery. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in telecom cabling design, 2+ years leading teams, and a RCDD credential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical engineering or related discipline; if no degree, a high school diploma may be considered.
• Minimum 4 years leading telecom structured cabling designs.
• Minimum 2 years managing a small team.
• RCDD credential is preferred.
• Experience with data center construction and ANSI/TIA standards.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks and Revizto.
• Strong self-motivation and cross-disciplinary coordination.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Experience responding to RFPs and budgeting projects.
• Experience creating and maintaining project schedules and mitigating risk.
• PE license is a plus.
• Experience with low voltage systems including A/V and Wireless.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and assigning a team of leads across projects and clients.
• Forecasting projects and staffing resources.
• Budgeting resources for multiple projects.
• Guiding and mentoring project leads through the design process.
• DIV 27 specification review and modification.
• Conducting site visits.
• Reviewing technical documents.
• Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Communicating with the department manager and telecom leads to meet deadlines.
