Job summary

Ericsson seeks a Data Center Services Technician to support installation, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure in hyperscale and enterprise data centers. You will perform rack-and-stack, cabling, testing, and provisioning while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Plano, TX is the primary location with flexibility for other Texas sites. A strong foundation in data center fundamentals and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical certification required.
• 1+ years of experience in data center operations, structured cabling, field services, or IT infrastructure support.
• Working knowledge of data center hardware, racks, servers, networking equipment, power distribution systems, and structured cabling.
• Understanding of copper and fiber cabling practices, basic optical networking concepts, and installation standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, installation documentation, and methods of procedure (MOPs).
• Experience performing rack-and-stack, cabling, testing, and equipment installation activities with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to quality and safety.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technicians, project teams, vendors, and customers while managing assigned work independently.

Responsibilities

• Install and deploy servers, network devices, storage, and related infrastructure as per designs and docs.
• Route, terminate, and dress copper/fiber cabling with proper labeling and cable management.
• Install rack PDUs, connect equipment to power sources, verify power and management connectivity.
• Perform equipment provisioning, hardware installation, and OOB management connections.
• Conduct basic testing and validation, including continuity and fiber verification.
• Execute MACDs and FRU replacements per procedures.
• Maintain installation records, test results, inventory, and as-built docs.
• Escalate design concerns, operational issues, and safety risks to leaders.
