Job summary

Unisys Corporation is seeking a Data Center Technician to maintain the data center IT infrastructure, install and configure servers, switches and racks, and ensure continuous access to network services. The role involves routine maintenance, backups, and coordination with Dell engineers to resolve issues on customer sites.

The candidate should have a High School Diploma or GED, possibly an associate degree or technical certification, and 2–4+ years of data center experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
  • 2–4+ years of IT data center experience recommended.
  • Ability to install, configure servers, switches and racks and related hardware; perform routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • The Data Center Technician is responsible for maintaining the data center's IT systems, troubleshooting issues, performing server installations, and ensuring uninterrupted access to network services.
  • Engineers will provide troubleshooting, repair, parts ordering, preventative maintenance and installation of Dell products located at customer sites.
  • Triage issues with direction from Dell Support.
  • Execute plan of action from Dell Domain Engineer/L3.
  • Document POA results, logs and service reports to Dell via case email.
  • Reseating parts, swapping or replacing parts.
  • Server testing and validation (running diagnostics, capturing and uploading logs).
  • Upgrading firmware as needed.
  • Parts locker management, inbound and outbound parts handling.
  • Spare parts management, separate from parts locker during CW server deployments.

Education
