Job summary

Netrality Data Centers in Chicago seeks a Data Center Technician to monitor and maintain critical infrastructure across on-site facilities. You will respond to alerts, support customers, and coordinate resources to resolve issues in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

Ideal candidates have 2 years of data center or related tech experience, strong troubleshooting and communication skills, and a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

High School Diploma is required.
2 years of Data Center or related technical experience.
Industry certifications or an associate degree in a technical area preferred.
Knowledge of Data Center cooling and power infrastructure is a plus.
2 years of customer service experience required.
Strong troubleshooting, multitasking and organizational skills.
Safety-first mindset; follow emergency procedures.
Excellent communicator and team player.
Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.

Responsibilities

Monitor the Critical Facilities Monitoring System and address alarm events with escalation as needed.
Provide top-tier physical and remote support for local and international Colocation customers 24/7/365.
Triage and process customer support requests via a web-based ticketing system.
Coordinate sales orders and facility-prep activities for new customer environments.
Perform hourly facility walkthroughs to verify readings of critical equipment.
Assist with security monitoring using cameras, access badges, and door alarms.
Execute rack & stack tasks for customer equipment as required.
Handle routine operations including equipment handling, repairs, and interconnection orders.
Manage and track customer package deliveries and shipments.
Respond to client calls/emails and coordinate resources to resolve issues.
Assist in deployment strategies and facility expansion plans.
Sign in/out visitors and escort authorized personnel as required.
Monitor planned outages and maintenance windows.
Maintain comprehensive logs of events, inventory, and tickets.
Maintain professional relations with contractors, tenants, and colleagues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
