Job summary

US Signal is seeking a Data Center Technician for our Waukee, IA data center. The role is onsite with 7:00–19:00, 19:00–07:00, or 8-hour flex shifts, including on-call and after-hours support. Responsibilities include monitoring facilities, maintenance, cabling, and vendor coordination to maintain uptime.

Qualified candidates have experience with building systems, IT basics, and strong project/vendor management skills. CJIS certification and a valid license are required; multiple openings exist.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in telecom or data-center infrastructure.
• Ability to manage multiple contractors and vendors to high standards.
• Comfort with building codes, electrical/HVAC/fire systems, and security equipment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor facility systems and ensure reliability of electrical, mechanical, and fire safety systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Install/decommission racks, provide remote hands support, and assist customers.
• Install/test copper and fiber cabling; align with airflow and cable standards.
• Manage work orders via Salesforce; coordinate with vendors and contractors.
• Oversee physical access control and badge issuance in line with policies.
• Follow escalation protocols and incident plans to ensure uptime.
