Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services is seeking a Server Build Technician Tier II for on-site contract work across Irving, Carrollton, Richardson, and Plano, TX. You will provide provisioning support, troubleshoot automated transactions, and escalate issues as part of a cross-functional team.

Required are strong communication skills, the ability to travel between client data center locations, and experience with network configurations and OS installations. Travel and on-site presence are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide provisioning support and assist with troubleshooting and solution implementation for automated transactions.
• Identify and troubleshoot automation failures using internal resources and workflows.
• Escalate unresolved transactions to appropriate internal teams when necessary.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network configurations, OS installations, and automated provisioning transactions.
• Document alarms during data center walkthroughs and escalate facility-related issues as needed.
• Resolve distressed inventory by running hardware diagnostics and recovery processes.
• Support inventory thresholds through component harvesting and inventory management activities.
• Handle internal escalations and hardware-related requests under Site Manager supervision.
• Respond to rack-level outages and infrastructure incidents and coordinate with internal departments to resolve outages.

Job description

Role: Server Build Technician Tier II

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Assignment: Contract Assignment

Location: Irving, Carrollton, Richardson, and Plano, TX (Travel Required)

Schedule: On-site

What you'll do:

• Provide provisioning support and assist with troubleshooting and solution implementation for automated transactions.
• Utilize internal resources and workflows to identify and troubleshoot automation failures.
• Escalate unresolved transactions to appropriate internal teams when necessary.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network configurations, operating system installations, and automated provisioning transactions.
• Perform required data center walkthroughs during each shift and document any audible or visual alarms.
• Escalate facility-related issues and resolve alarms that do not require prior customer approval.
• Resolve distressed inventory by running hardware diagnostics and following internal recovery processes.
• Support inventory thresholds through component harvesting and inventory management activities.
• Handle internal escalations and perform hardware-related requests under the supervision of the Site Manager.
• Respond to rack-level outage and infrastructure incidents involving faulty links, optics, and networking devices.
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve outage events and elevate larger outages as required.

Travel to various Client data center locations as needed.

What you'll need:

• Ability to perform all responsibilities required of a Tier I technician in addition to Tier II duties.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments.
• Understanding of appropriate escalation procedures and support paths.
• Experience troubleshooting automated provisioning transactions.
• Knowledge of network troubleshooting and operating system installations.
• Ability to analyze system failures and implement solutions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness and ability to travel between Client's data center locations.
