Job summary

Neuralink is seeking a hands-on Systems Engineer to own the end-to-end lifecycle of our compute and storage infrastructure in Austin, TX. You will build, automate, and operate data center environments supporting HPC and GPU workloads.

The role requires Linux administration, hardware procurement, PXE/HTTP provisioning, and strong scripting. You will ensure 24/7 on-call readiness and HIPAA/compliance alignment, with equity compensation offered.

Qualifications

• Experience building and supporting HPC or high-density compute environments.
• Hands-on data center power, cooling, and racking design/ops.
• Strong Linux server administration; Windows Server knowledge.
• Automating bare-metal provisioning with PXE/HTTP boot; Terraform/Ansible/Puppet.
• Familiarity with DCIM tools and infrastructure monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana).
• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and NTP knowledge for deployment/troubleshooting.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate data center environments including power, cooling, and scalable racking.
• Own full server and storage lifecycle from procurement to decommission.
• Administer HPC and GPU clusters and high-performance storage systems.
• Automate server provisioning and configuration management.
• Administer Linux and Windows server environments including OS deployment and hardening.
• Operate infrastructure monitoring and alerting; plan capacity.
• Coordinate maintenance windows and on-call readiness.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, PII handling and cybersecurity standards.
• Author and maintain design documents and runbooks.
