Job summary

Instrata Technologies, LLC. is seeking an experienced Data Center Superintendent to lead on-site construction operations across hyperscale and enterprise data centre projects.

You will manage large crews, drive safety, productivity, quality, and milestone delivery in high-tempo environments. You will partner with Project Managers, commissioning teams, trade partners, and client stakeholders to ensure facilities are built to spec, ready for testing, and delivered on schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in structured cabling, low-voltage, or data centre infrastructure construction.
• 2+ years supervising crews on large commercial or mission-critical projects.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• BICSI or manufacturer certifications strongly preferred.
• Experience working on data centre, hyperscale, or other critical infrastructure builds preferred.

• Coordinate daily manpower, subcontractors, and sequencing of critical path activities.

• Lead installation of structured cabling, fiber backbone, containment systems, pathways, grounding/bonding, and low-voltage infrastructure.
• Coordinate closely with MEP trades to ensure proper routing, clearances, and installation sequencing.
• Support white space readiness, equipment staging, and turnover requirements.

About the Role

Are you a field leader who thrives in mission-critical construction environments where precision, safety, and schedule adherence are non-negotiable? We’re seeking an experienced Data Center Superintendent to lead on-site construction operations across hyperscale and enterprise data centre projects, managing large (20+) crews and complex technical installations.

In this role, you’ll own field execution—driving safety, productivity, quality, and milestone delivery in high-tempo construction environments. You’ll partner closely with Project Managers, commissioning teams, trade partners, and client stakeholders to ensure facilities are built to spec, ready for testing, and delivered on schedule.

What You’ll Do – Build Mission-critical Infrastructure

• Oversee all on-site construction activities across active data centre builds and expansions
• Drive schedule execution aligned to turnover, commissioning, and energisation milestones
• Coordinate daily manpower, subcontractors, and sequencing of critical path activities
• Maintain a disciplined, safety-first culture appropriate for energized and high-risk environments
• Lead installation of structured cabling, fiber backbone, containment systems, pathways, grounding/bonding, and low-voltage infrastructure supporting critical systems
• Coordinate closely with MEP trades to ensure proper routing, clearances, and installation sequencing
• Support white space readiness, equipment staging, and turnover requirements
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, data centre standards, and commissioning readiness
• Conduct daily field briefings covering safety, logistics, materials, and progress
• Monitor installations for adherence to QA/QC standards and design intent
• Enforce OSHA standards, site safety plans, and client-specific protocols
• Coordinate inspections, punch resolution, and documentation for turnover packages
• Forecast labour, materials, lifts, testing, and tooling several weeks in advance
• Identify constructability risks, sequencing conflicts, and schedule threats early
• Track material flow and ensure timely delivery for critical infrastructure components
• Support commissioning readiness by verifying installations meet test requirements
• Lead, mentor, and develop Foremen, Leads, and technicians in mission-critical environments
• Promote accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement
• Support performance coaching and workforce planning in coordination with Operations

What You Bring

• Strong leadership and decision-making ability in fast-paced construction environments
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and large field teams on complex builds
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and installation standards
• Strong communication skills with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and schedule performance
• Proficiency with construction reporting tools, mobile field tech, and Microsoft 365

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 5+ years in structured cabling, low-voltage, or data centre infrastructure construction
• 2+ years supervising crews on large commercial or mission-critical projects
• OSHA 30 required

• Experience working on data centre, hyperscale, or other critical infrastructure builds preferred
• Familiarity with project tracking or construction software (Smartsheet, Procore, etc.)
• Valid driver’s licence with clean record

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on field role in active construction sites, including large-scale data centre builds. Work includes walking extensive job sites, climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs, and performing physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and reaching.
