Overview

The Superintendent provides on-site leadership and coordination for all phases of data center and mission-critical construction projects. This role ensures that work is performed safely, efficiently, and in strict compliance with project specifications, schedule, and quality standards.

The Superintendent will lead daily field operations, manage subcontractors, and collaborate with the Project Manager and client representatives to deliver technically complex projects — including hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data centers — on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
Field Operations & Leadership

Direct all on-site construction activities from mobilization through commissioning and close-out.

Supervise field staff, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with project scope, specifications, and safety standards.

Maintain daily site documentation, including reports, photos, safety audits, and progress updates.

Lead daily and weekly coordination meetings with trade partners and internal teams.

Drive productivity and maintain workflow efficiency while resolving field challenges in real time.

Scheduling & Coordination

Develop and manage short-term “look-ahead” schedules aligned with the master project timeline.

Proactively coordinate work sequences with subcontractors to minimize downtime and conflicts.

Track project milestones and ensure timely delivery of critical components such as switchgear, UPS systems, generators, and cooling infrastructure.

Collaborate with the Project Manager and field engineers to adjust manpower, resources, and logistics as needed.

Safety & Compliance

Champion a culture of safety and accountability on the job site.

Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce compliance with OSHA standards and company protocols.

Implement and monitor site‑specific safety plans and emergency response procedures.

Ensure all personnel are properly trained and equipped to maintain a zero‑incident environment.

Quality Control & Technical Oversight

Inspect all work for quality, precision, and adherence to specifications, particularly for MEP, electrical, and cooling systems.

Manage testing, commissioning, and integrated systems verification with the QA/QC and commissioning teams.

Enforce installation standards to meet Tier III/Tier IV reliability and uptime requirements.

Maintain strong relationships with inspectors and third‑party testing agencies to ensure smooth approvals.

Communication & Reporting

Serve as the on-site point of contact for the Project Manager, client representatives, and consultants.

Provide daily reports on manpower, progress, materials, and safety compliance.

Address and elevate issues that impact schedule, cost, or performance promptly.

Support documentation for change orders, RFIs, and coordination drawings.

Oversee punch-list completion, final inspections, and client training sessions.

Coordinate with the commissioning team to verify operational readiness and turnover requirements.

Support the preparation of as-built documentation and O&M manuals.
