Corning Inc. is seeking a Commercial Technology Specialist based in Charlotte, NC. You will serve as the technical bridge between customers (Oracle) and Corning’s product teams, identifying network requirements and supporting field trials for new cabling solutions.

The role emphasizes VOC-driven opportunity assessment, cross-functional coordination with PLM and tech teams, and the ability to travel up to 25% to support customer engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in the Data Center cabling infrastructure industry.
• Experience engaging directly with customers to identify network requirements and propose technical solutions.
• Experience applying VOC methods or structured approaches to quantify customer needs and business opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Engage directly with Data Center customers to capture network architecture requirements and map Corning’s cabling solutions to customer needs.
• Apply VOC methods to quantify opportunity size, identify unmet customer needs, and develop NPV analyses for product investment decisions.
• Support customer field trials and qualification processes, coordinating cross-functionally with PLM, solutions innovation, and technology teams.
• Identify and document customer pain points, competitive gaps, and emerging technology trends to inform data center product roadmap.
• Partner with commercial account teams to develop customer-specific engagement plans and deliver technical presentations.
