Job summary

Atwell, LLC is seeking a mid-level SCADA & Automation Engineer to join the Data Center group. You will design, test, and field-install relaying and SCADA components, under the supervision of a Professional Engineer, delivering quality work on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include configuring IEC61850/DNP3 protocols, testing SEL RTACs, performing field commissioning, and coordinating with clients and project teams across multiple sites. Requires travel and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with electric power option preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• FE licensure preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medium/high voltage power systems and SCADA.

Responsibilities

• Set, test, wire, and install relaying and control systems, specifically SEL equipment.
• Program, install, and test SCADA and PLC systems (SEL RTACs).
• Prepare configuration files for IEC61850, GO OSE, DNP3, and other SCADA protocols.
• Create design documents including specifications, RFIs, and studies.
• Perform detailed electrical power system design, including diagrams and grounding.
• Conduct SCADA/relay field testing and commissioning.
• Provide field support for SCADA systems (SEL RTAC, Ignition, PLCs).
• Travel to field sites as needed for commissioning and troubleshooting.
