Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking a Safety Manager to partner with Superintendents and Project Managers to enforce Corporate Safety and Health policies. The role oversees project-level safety procedures across sites within a region, ensuring compliance and incident prevention.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in construction health and safety, OSHA trainer qualifications, and a proactive, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• OSHA Construction Industry Outreach Trainer qualification.
• Willingness to pursue CHST designation within two years.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts regular site inspections and records safety conditions.
• Maintains project safety binder and document storage systems.
• Coordinates subcontractor safety planning meetings.
• Acts as a resource on OSHA, NFPA, and local safety regulations.
• Reviews Subcontractors' Site Specific Safety Programs and JHA.
• Monitors Toolbox Talks and ensures proper documentation.
• Conducts accident investigations and collects incident reports.
• Coordinates with Risk Manager on claims trends and risk planning.
• Ensures training of employees related to scope of work.
