Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Manager for Data Centers in Frederick, MD. Lead the administration and implementation of corporate safety policies on Data Center projects within the Center of Excellence, coordinating with Superintendents, Project Managers, and Executives.

Responsibilities include creating safety programs, mentoring Safety Managers, training (OSHA 10/30, HAZWOPER), site evaluations, incident investigations, and ensuring regulatory compliance with OSHA/NFPA/local

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction health and safety experience with federal/state regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction or Safety preferred but not required.
• Qualified OSHA Construction Industry Outreach Trainer.
• Professional CHST certification.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, communicate, enforce, and identify opportunities for improvements in corporate safety programs.
• Mentor and supervise Safety Managers as required by Regional Safety Director.
• Provide administrative expertise related to project safety document storage in OnTrac.
• Coordinate and facilitate subcontractors' Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings with field operations and regulatory compliance including OSHA, NFPA, and JCAHO standards.
• Review subcontractors' Site Specific Safety Programs and Job Hazard Analysis prior to mobilization.
• Conduct site evaluations using Predictive Solutions and track corrections to deficiencies.
• Attend toolbox talks to ensure documentation and quality.
• Perform root cause investigations for accidents with risk managers.
• Coordinate with Regional Risk Manager to identify claims trends and proactive risk planning.
• Enforce training documentation for subcontractors' employees related to their scope of work.
• Deliver OSHA 10 or 30 Hour, HAZWOPER, and other safety trainings.
