Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking a Safety Manager for Advanced Manufacturing to lead safety programs on project sites, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will collaborate with Superintendents and Project Managers to implement health and safety plans and oversee subcontractor safety performance.

The role requires 3–5 years in construction health and safety, OSHA trainer credentials, and a willingness to achieve CHST within two years.

Qualifications

3-5 years of related work experience in construction health and safety within the Advanced Manufacturing.
Working knowledge of Federal and State safety and health regulations, as well as local building code issues for safety and health.
Bachelor's degree in Construction or Safety preferred but not required.
Qualified OSHA Construction Industry Outreach Trainer
Willingness to achieve CHST designation within two years

Responsibilities

Conduct regular site inspections and record safe and unsafe conditions.
Maintain project safety binder and document storage systems.
Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate subcontractor Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings.
Advise field operations on OSHA, NFPA and related standards.
Review Subcontractors Site Specific Safety Programs before mobilization.
Attend and monitor Toolbox Talks to ensure documentation and quality.
Investigate accidents and collect incident reporting forms.
Coordinate with Regional Risk Manager on claims trends.
Ensure subcontractor training aligns with scope of work.
Provide OSHA 10/30 or HAZWOPER training as needed.
