Job summary

Suffolk Construction in Cedar Rapids, IA, seeks a 2nd Shift Safety Manager for our Mission Critical Data Center of Excellence. You'll oversee safety programs on site, coordinate with the Superintendent and Project Manager, and implement corporate safety policies to meet Health and Safety Plan goals.

This role runs 4:00pm–2:00am, requires OSHA training, field experience, and strong communication. Join a bold, innovative team focused on safety, quality, and reliable operations across our data

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of construction health and safety experience.
• Knowledge of Federal & State safety regulations.
• OSHA Construction Industry Outreach Trainer.
• Willingness to achieve CHST within two years.
• CPR Instructor training provided.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong planning, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and record conditions.
• Manage safety binder and document storage tasks.
• Coordinate subcontractor safety planning meetings.
• Monitor OSHA regulations including NFPA and JCAHO standards.
• Review subcontractor safety programs before mobilization.
• Attend tool box talks and ensure documentation.
• Investigate accidents and file incident reports.
• Coordinate with Regional Risk Manager on claims trends.
• Check subcontractor training related to scope.
• Conduct OSHA 10/30, HAZWOPER, and related trainings.
