Job summary

SLS Consultants in Iowa seeks an experienced Safety Manager to lead site safety programs on large-scale construction projects, ensuring regulatory compliance and a strong safety culture across teams. You will collaborate with project management, contractors, and subcontractors to drive risk mitigation and incident response.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in construction safety management, OSHA 30 certification, and a degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related fields.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of construction safety management experience.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Safety Management, or related field preferred; Master’s degree a plus.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
• Experience on large commercial, industrial, energy, mission critical, or infrastructure projects.
• Data center experience is a plus but not required.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor site safety and EHS compliance activities.
• Conduct daily site walks, audits, and safety inspections.
• Partner with contractors and project teams to identify and mitigate risks.
• Participate in incident investigations, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
• Track and report safety KPIs, trends, and performance metrics.
• Facilitate safety meetings and support site safety committees.
• Review contractor safety performance and address non-compliance issues.
• Support project planning, design reviews, and construction safety initiatives.
