Job summary

Gilbane Building Company seeks a Senior General Superintendent II to manage field operations on one or more large data center projects. The role is site-based daily, leading the project team and coordinating trades to deliver on time and within budget.

You will oversee safety programs, develop work plans, and maintain quality and schedule communications with owners, engineers, and subcontractors. Strong leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent
• 15+ years of experience on $50M+ commercial/industrial construction projects or multiple projects in a lead superintendent role
• OSHA 30-hour certified
• STS-C Certification
• First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates trade contractors and sub-contractors to ensure high-quality work that meets the project schedule
• Supervises and develops the project team
• Manages the project budget for general conditions and Next 150/Site Services
• Develops and communicates the work plan for field changes
• Leads site walks with owner, architect/engineer, and lenders
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to coordinate trades and plan ahead
• Verifies permits with subcontractors and follows up with AHJs for inspections
• Acts as primary safety representative and drives safety culture
• Leads safety strategies and ongoing safety training
• Leads contractor meetings and ensures accurate daily reports
• Communicates schedule status to project team and trades
• Manages site logistics and material needs for Next 150/Site Services
• Develops QIC plan with Operations Excellence and implements changes
• Mentors junior team members and participates in business development
