Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Project Engineer in Hamlet, NC to support onsite construction management of advanced data centers. You will coordinate with general contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of design, procurement, and construction milestones.

The role emphasizes on-site presence, rigorous documentation control, and safety/quality program implementation, with extensive interaction across operations and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of vendor management experience
• 4+ years of experience in a data center or critical environment
• 5+ years of Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Experience in vendor management in data center/critical environments
• Experience in data center engineering or operations
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional communication between regional GC, stakeholders, and internal teams
• Develop and maintain tracking systems for design changes, RFIs, and change orders
• Evaluate MOP submissions for thoroughness, necessity, and risk
• Manage vendor onboarding, including security credentialing and orientation
• Maintain project management software with milestone updates and document control
• Coordinate and monitor owner-furnished material deliveries
• Establish and manage a centralized repository for contractor-supplied data
• Oversee QA programs with checklists, safety and quality controls
