Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Hamlet, NC is seeking a Data Center Construction Manager to lead on-site construction activities for large-scale data center projects.

You will manage scope, schedule, budget, and coordinate with Operations, Networking, and Security to deliver energy-efficient facilities that meet high reliability standards. This on-site role requires interfacing with general contractors, driving cost and quality, and reporting metrics to leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience constructing electrical engineering systems including large scale power distribution/generation gear and mechanical engineering systems including cooling systems.
• Experience in construction management or construction program management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plants.
• Experience in construction of data center delivery (design, commissioning and construction), mission critical facilities, or equivalent industrial/manufacturing facility builds.

Responsibilities

• Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and closeout phases.
• Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy.
• Create construction project scope and requests for proposals.
• Perform financial analysis of construction.
• Manage construction projects for initiatives aimed at increasing resiliency of data centers.
• Record and report key construction metrics to team members and management.
