Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Project Engineer to join the onsite Construction Management team in Manassas, VA. You will coordinate between regional general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure seamless information flow and adherence to construction protocols.

You will develop tracking systems for design changes, RFIs, and change orders, evaluate MOP submissions, and manage vendor onboarding, documentation control, and QA programs, driving timely, quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of relevant discipline work experience.
• 4+ years of relevant experience constructing and managing complex MEP systems, including large-scale power distribution/generation gear and cooling systems in mission-critical environments.
• 3+ years of relevant experience managing general contractors and vendors, including RFP processes, bidding, change orders, quality control, and RFI/submittal tracking in construction project execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional communication and coordination between regional contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams; ensure seamless information flow for construction protocols, documentation access, and standardized procedures.
• Develop and maintain tracking systems for design modifications, RFIs, and change orders; create dashboards with priorities and deadlines.
• Evaluate Method of Procedure (MOP) submissions for thoroughness, necessity, and risk assessment.
• Manage vendor onboarding, including security credentialing and orientation programs.
• Maintain project management software with milestone updates, correspondence records, and document control.
• Coordinate and monitor owner-furnished material deliveries to sites.
• Establish and manage a centralized repository for contractor-supplied construction data.
• Oversee QA programs via checklists, substantial completion verification, safety protocols, and quality control.
