Turner Construction Company in Columbus, OH is seeking an experienced Estimating Leader to oversee preconstruction for critical facilities data center projects.

You will manage BU Estimating, coordinate with BD and Procurement, review drawings, and lead Value Engineering to deliver competitive lump-sum bids.

Candidates should have a 10-year building construction background, a relevant degree, and strong leadership, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of building construction experience.
• Understanding of drawings, specifications, contracts, materials, means and methods.
• Ability to analyze estimating documents quantitatively and qualitatively.
• Ability to develop client relationships and identify sales opportunities.
• Extensive knowledge of regional market, competition, and industry trends.
• Advanced project management skills to manage high volumes of work.

Responsibilities

• Manage BU Estimating department during preconstruction and allocate resources.
• Oversee GA expenses reimbursements for estimating staff.
• Develop relationships with clients, architects, and trade partners.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews for direct reports.
• Oversee review of drawings and specs; flag design-related risks.
• Develop lump sum bids and obtain senior management approval.
• Conduct market research for upcoming work.
• Coordinate GC/GR estimate development and cost trends.
• Lead Value Engineering during preconstruction.
• Collaborate on proposals and client presentations with BD.
• Coordinate with Procurement on schedules and subcontractor proposals.
• Support Launch Matrix for estimating milestones.
• Contribute to Constructability Reviews and incorporate into estimates.
• Coordinate with Lean Manager to develop pull plans.
• Prepare variance analysis for each milestone estimate.
• Support Target Value Design processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
