Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced preconstruction leader for the Critical Facilities-Data Centers division to drive estimating, budgeting and bid development from project inception through start of construction.

You will manage the BU Estimating team, develop and review lump-sum estimates, collaborate with clients, architects and trade partners, and lead value engineering and constructability reviews to safeguard scope, cost and schedule for Columbus, OH data center projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field; minimum 10 years of building construction experience.
• Experience reviewing drawings and specifications, and understanding contracts and subcontracts.
• Ability to develop client relationships and identify sales opportunities.
• Extensive knowledge of regional market, competition and industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Manage BU Estimating department and estimating functions during preconstruction and allocate resources.
• Oversee reimbursement of Estimating staff and costs related to G&A expenses.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, architects, design community, and trade partners.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding and performance feedback processes.
• Oversee and manage processes to review drawings and documents; inform senior management of risks.
• Lead lump-sum bid development and review for senior management approval.
• Coordinate market research and develop GC/GR estimates.
• Manage Budget Control Reports and variance communication for milestones.
• Lead Target Value Design and Value Engineering processes for select projects.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Procurement on proposals and supplier evaluations.
