Job summary

TEKsystems seeks experienced Data Center Operations Technicians for a contract role in Hillsboro, OR. You will support a modern data center, moving and configuring servers, switches, and cabling, while following safety and process standards.

The role requires hands-on hardware troubleshooting, rack-and-stack execution, and collaboration with network and operations teams. Night shift schedule applies, with long-term project potential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of data center technician experience.
• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and isolating server hardware issues.
• Hands-on break/fix troubleshooting in production data centers.
• Experience with rack and stack installations, server configuration, and cabling.

Responsibilities

• Move servers, switches, and related equipment to designated installation locations.
• Inspect hardware for damage prior to deployment and perform basic validation.
• Rack, stack, and configure servers and network gear.
• Install and manage structured cabling per wire maps and site standards.
• Collaborate with network teams to validate connectivity and installation accuracy.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and isolate server hardware issues in a production environment.
• Conduct inventory audits and decommission equipment when needed.
