Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer for Data Centers to oversee mission-critical facility operations alongside the Chief Engineer. You will manage technical teams and drive strategies to optimize reliability, efficiency and safety of data center infrastructure.

This role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of power and cooling systems, and a commitment to regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data center operations/management experience.
• Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure (power, cooling, network).
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, TIA, Uptime Institute standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficiency in facility management software and BAS.
• Valid certification (CDCP, DCPRO or equivalent).
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing data center facility operations and maintenance.
• Supervise engineers, technicians, and contractors.
• Monitor power, cooling, and network infrastructure performance.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Ensure safety, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in capacity planning and upgrade projects.
• Respond to critical incidents and emergencies.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management/clients.
• Serve as first contact for service-impacting events (electrical distribution).
• Assist in root cause analysis (RCAs).
• Provide after-hours support as needed.
