Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer – Data Center Facilities to ensure reliable operation and maintenance of mission‑critical data center environments in Austin, TX. You will work with the Chief Engineer, oversee facility operations, and guide technical staff to optimize performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.

The role requires 5+ years in data center management, strong technical leadership, and familiarity with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of data center operations and management.
• Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, and network architecture.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, TIA, and Uptime Institute standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing and coordinating data center facility operations and maintenance.
• Supervise and mentor engineers, technicians and contractors.
• Monitor and analyze critical systems performance (power, cooling, network).
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Collaborate to ensure safety, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades.
