Job summary

JLL in Austin, TX seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer - Data Center Facilities to partner with the Chief Engineer, ensuring reliable operations of mission-critical environments. You will lead technical teams, drive preventive maintenance, and optimize performance across power, cooling, and network systems.

Requirements include 5+ years in data center operations, knowledge of power distribution, cooling, and network architecture, and familiarity with ASHRAE, TIA, and Uptime Institute.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in data center operations and management.
• Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure: power, cooling, and network.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, TIA, and Uptime Institute standards.
• Proficiency with facility management software and CMMS.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee data center facility operations and maintenance.
• Supervise technical staff and contractors.
• Monitor power, cooling and network infrastructure.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Collaborate to ensure safety, security and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades.
• Respond to and manage critical incidents and after-hours support.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and clients.
