Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Ohio is seeking an Data Center Operations Technician to join a 24/7 team responsible for electrical and mechanical data center equipment. You will support shift operations, perform routine checks, and assist with maintenance and troubleshooting to keep critical systems running smoothly.

Qualified candidates have 1+ years in electrical/mechanical or data center facilities, a high school diploma, and must be a US citizen able to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, or data center facilities experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain data center electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within SLAs.
• Perform maintenance tasks: filter changes, HVAC PMs, rack power installs.
• Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed.
• Work a 12‑hour rotating shift schedule (3 and 4 days).
• Record readings of critical systems during rounds.
• Use CMMS to manage workflows and spare parts.
• Supervise contractors for servicing or preventive maintenance.
• Respond to off hour calls per on‑call rotations.
• Comply with physical security procedures and policies.
• Contribute to cost reduction and operational innovation.
• Manipulate small wires and objects.
