Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a night-shift Infrastructure Technician to support 24/7 data center operations. You will diagnose hardware and network issues, repair as needed, and participate in on‑call rotations to ensure high availability.

Requirements include 1+ year of networking and Linux experience, a bachelor’s degree in IT/CS, and ability to lift up to 40 pounds. This role involves working in industrial environments and elevated/cramped spaces.

Job description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and ensure customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations.
  • Perform in-depth hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair.
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation.
  • Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds.
  • Working in cramped and/or elevated locations.
  • Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
  • Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
  • Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
  • Work in an industrial environment.
  • Work night shift 8+ hours to support 24/7 operations (covering hours between 6 pm–6 am).
Day in the Life

This is a night shift position requiring an overnight work schedule five days a week. Schedule may include some weekends/holidays.

Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience.
  • 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in computer networking.
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems.
  • Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
  • Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).

We also offer comprehensive benefits. Base salary range: 30.00 – 54.00 USD hourly. Compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs) based on experience, qualifications, and location.
