Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to safeguard mission-critical infrastructure and ensure 24/7 uptime. You will monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/safety systems, perform preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot complex facility issues in a fast-paced data center environment.

The role involves hands-on work with generators, UPS, switchgear, CRAC, and cooling systems, with potential location flexibility and shift rotations to meet operations needs.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical facilities maintenance
• Experience with mechanical facilities
• Ability to read and write technical procedures and engineering drawings
• Flexibility to work evenings, overnights, and weekends

Responsibilities

• Perform daily rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/safety equipment for 24/7 reliability
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLAs
• Conduct PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repairs on electrical/mechanical equipment
• Prepare technical documentation to support change management
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors ensuring safety and compliance
• On-site role may rotate across multiple locations and shifts up to 12 hours
