Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to help maintain mission-critical facilities and ensure near-continuous operations across our data centers. You will work hands-on with diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, and cooling systems in a fast-paced environment.

You will join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, and operations staff, contributing to safety, reliability, and cost-effective infrastructure for AWS workloads.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• Willingness to travel between data center locations as needed.
• 2+ years of data center engineering experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLAs.
• Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Produce technical writing to support change management.
• Reroute and manage daily work requests to resolution and drive projects to completion.
• Provide on-site support of contractors and vendors per established practices and local regulations.
• Adapt work schedule to site needs; shifts can be up to 12 hours and may rotate; some sites have on-call rotations.
• Role may support multiple locations/sites.
