Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain critical data center infrastructure, including generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, and cooling systems.

You will ensure 24/7 reliability by performing preventive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting in a high‑safety environment. The role requires 2+ years of relevant experience, on-site work, and the ability to collaborate with contractors while following established procedures and regulations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with electrical or mechanical systems in facilities.
• Experience with HVAC and fire suppression systems is preferred.
• Ability to work in a data center environment and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA.
• Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution; execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring work adheres to practices and local legislation.
• Work schedule changes with shifts up to 12 hours; some locations have on-call rotations.
• Role may support more than one location/site.
