Job summary

Oracle in Ashburn is seeking a Datacenter Services Operations leader to manage break/fix, hardware maintenance, and large-scale network migrations. You will drive standards, governance, and cross‑functional collaboration with engineering, capacity, networking, and security teams to ensure resilience at scale.

You will own escalation queues, develop playbooks, and implement automation to improve response times and observability.

Responsibilities

• Oversees lifecycle management for servers and components; sets standards for diagnosis, replacement, and validation without impacting critical workloads
• Coaches teams on advanced power distribution practices and hardware interventions; ensures reliability, safety, and SLA objectives
• Leads planning, risk assessment, and governance for large-scale network builds and migrations; validates architecture, cabling, and end-to-end connectivity
• Defines acceptance criteria and sign-off gates for network changes; ensures interoperability and error-free integration with upstream/downstream systems
• Owns the escalation queue and trend analysis; directs investigations, defines fix-forward plans, and documents resolutions within SLAs
• Shapes ticket taxonomy, triage playbooks, and automation triggers to improve response speed
• Governs adherence to SOPs/MOPs and site rules for high-risk work; aligns with security procedures, regulations, and audit requirements
• Ensures documentation, audit trails, and change records; leads compliance reviews and remediations
• Leads post-incident reviews and RCAs; shares learnings and implements durable design/process changes to reduce risk
• Partners with engineering to reduce single points of failure and improve observability and alert fidelity
• Mentors technicians; sets expectations for execution quality, safety, and customer focus; builds capability through training
• Influences staffing and readiness plans for on-call and peak events; promotes inclusive collaboration
• Planning & Execution - drives completion of complex work; provides leadership on shifting priorities
• Collaboration & Partnership - works across lines of business to deliver impactful work and build partnerships
• Problem Solving - develops procedures to resolve complex issues; acts as final escalation point
