Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer for Data Center Facilities to oversee mission-critical data center operations. You will work with the Chief Engineer to manage facility operations, lead technical teams, and implement strategies for reliability and efficiency in a fast-paced data center environment.

On-site role in Colorado City, TX with 24x7 coverage. Requires 5+ years in data center management and relevant certifications; PE preferred. Relocation assistance may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center operations and management.
• Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure including power and cooling.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, TIA, and Uptime Institute standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficiency with facility management software and BAS.
• Valid certifications (e.g., CDCP, DCPRO) and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing data center facility operations and maintenance activities.
• Supervise and mentor engineers, technicians, and contractors.
• Monitor and analyze critical systems performance (power, cooling, network).
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Collaborate to ensure safety, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades.
• Respond to and manage critical incidents and after-hours support (24x7).
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and clients.
