Job summary

TensorWave in Birmingham, AL, USA seeks a Data Center Manager to ensure 24/7 availability, security, and operational efficiency of our data center environment. You will lead a team of technicians and collaborate across functions to align with business goals.

Responsibilities include uptime management, capacity planning, vendor oversight, asset management, and audit readiness for SOC2/ISO/HIPAA. Strong leadership and incident communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data center operations with leadership experience.
• Experience supporting 24/7 customer-facing operations and on-call management.
• Hands-on with monitoring platforms such as Grafana or Prometheus.
• Proven ability to hire, train, and lead technical operations teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, especially during incidents.
• Experience with ticketing/incident systems (PagerDuty, ServiceNow, Jira).

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of Data Center Technicians.
• Monitor uptime, security, and efficiency of the data center environment.
• Oversee capacity planning and power/cooling/resource forecasting.
• Coordinate with vendors for HVAC, electrical, and security services.
• Coordinate incident response, RCA, and post-mortems.
• Maintain DCIM data accuracy and asset records.
• Ensure audit readiness for SOC2, ISO, or HIPAA.
